សាវត្ថិនិទានំ។
At Sāvatthī.
ឯកមន្តំ និសិន្នោ ខោ សោ ភិក្ខុ ភគវន្តំ ឯតទវោច:
Seated to one side, that bhikkhu said to the Buddha:
“កោ នុ ខោ, ភន្តេ, ហេតុ, កោ បច្ចយោ, យេន មិធេកច្ចោ កាយស្ស ភេទា បរំ មរណា សារគន្ធេ អធិវត្ថានំ ទេវានំ …បេ… ផេគ្គុគន្ធេ អធិវត្ថានំ ទេវានំ … តចគន្ធេ អធិវត្ថានំ ទេវានំ … បបដិកគន្ធេ អធិវត្ថានំ ទេវានំ … បត្តគន្ធេ អធិវត្ថានំ ទេវានំ … បុប្ផគន្ធេ អធិវត្ថានំ ទេវានំ … ផលគន្ធេ អធិវត្ថានំ ទេវានំ … រសគន្ធេ អធិវត្ថានំ ទេវានំ … គន្ធគន្ធេ អធិវត្ថានំ ទេវានំ សហព្យតំ ឧបបជ្ជតី”តិ?
“Sir, what is the cause, what is the reason why someone, when their body breaks up, after death, is reborn in the company of the gods of fairykind who live in fragrant heartwood … softwood … bark … sprouts … leaves … flowers … fruit … sap … fragrant scents?”
“ឥធ, ភិក្ខុ, ឯកច្ចោ កាយេន សុចរិតំ ចរតិ, វាចាយ សុចរិតំ ចរតិ, មនសា សុចរិតំ ចរតិ។ តស្ស សុតំ ហោតិ: ‘សារគន្ធេ អធិវត្ថា ទេវា ទីឃាយុកា វណ្ណវន្តោ សុខពហុលាៜតិ។ តស្ស ឯវំ ហោតិ: ‘អហោ វតាហំ កាយស្ស ភេទា បរំ មរណា សារគន្ធេ អធិវត្ថានំ ទេវានំ …បេ… ផេគ្គុគន្ធេ អធិវត្ថានំ ទេវានំ … តចគន្ធេ អធិវត្ថានំ ទេវានំ … បបដិកគន្ធេ អធិវត្ថានំ ទេវានំ … បត្តគន្ធេ អធិវត្ថានំ ទេវានំ … បុប្ផគន្ធេ អធិវត្ថានំ ទេវានំ … ផលគន្ធេ អធិវត្ថានំ ទេវានំ … រសគន្ធេ អធិវត្ថានំ ទេវានំ … គន្ធគន្ធេ អធិវត្ថានំ ទេវានំ សហព្យតំ ឧបបជ្ជេយ្យន៑ៜតិ។ សោ ទាតា ហោតិ សារគន្ធានំ …បេ… សោ ទាតា ហោតិ ផេគ្គុគន្ធានំ … សោ ទាតា ហោតិ តចគន្ធានំ … សោ ទាតា ហោតិ បបដិកគន្ធានំ … សោ ទាតា ហោតិ បត្តគន្ធានំ … សោ ទាតា ហោតិ បុប្ផគន្ធានំ … សោ ទាតា ហោតិ ផលគន្ធានំ … សោ ទាតា ហោតិ រសគន្ធានំ … សោ ទាតា ហោតិ គន្ធគន្ធានំ។ សោ កាយស្ស ភេទា បរំ មរណា គន្ធគន្ធេ អធិវត្ថានំ ទេវានំ សហព្យតំ ឧបបជ្ជតិ។ អយំ ខោ, ភិក្ខុ, ហេតុ, អយំ បច្ចយោ, យេន មិធេកច្ចោ កាយស្ស ភេទា បរំ មរណា គន្ធគន្ធេ អធិវត្ថានំ ទេវានំ សហព្យតំ ឧបបជ្ជតី”តិ។
“Bhikkhu, it’s when someone does good things by way of body, speech, and mind. And they’ve heard: ‘The gods of fairykind who live in fragrant heartwood … fragrant scents are long-lived, beautiful, and very happy.’ They think: ‘If only, when my body breaks up, after death, I would be reborn in the company of the gods of fairykind who live in fragrant heartwood … fragrant scents!’ They give gifts of fragrant heartwood … fragrant scents. When their body breaks up, after death, they’re reborn in the company of the gods of fairykind who live in fragrant scents. This is the cause, this is the reason why someone, when their body breaks up, after death, is reborn in the company of the gods of fairykind who live on fragrant scents.”
