“စတ္တာရိမာနိ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ဝစီဒုစ္စရိတာနိ၊ ကတမာနိ စတ္တာရိ? မုသာဝါဒေါ, ပိသုဏာ ဝါစာ, ဖရုသာ ဝါစာ, သမ္ဖပ္ပလာပေါ—ဣမာနိ ခေါ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, စတ္တာရိ ဝစီဒုစ္စရိတာနိ၊
“Bhikkhus, there are these four kinds of bad conduct by way of speech. What four? Speech that’s false, divisive, harsh, or nonsensical. These are the four kinds of bad conduct by way of speech.
စတ္တာရိမာနိ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ဝစီသုစရိတာနိ၊ ကတမာနိ စတ္တာရိ? သစ္စဝါစာ, အပိသုဏာ ဝါစာ, သဏှာ ဝါစာ, မန္တဝါစာ—ဣမာနိ ခေါ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, စတ္တာရိ ဝစီသုစရိတာနီ”တိ၊
There are these four kinds of good conduct by way of speech. What four? Speech that’s true, harmonious, gentle, and thoughtful. These are the four kinds of good conduct by way of speech.”
