อปริหานิยสุตฺต

“ฉยิเม, ภิกฺขเว, อปริหานิเย ธมฺเม เทเสสฺสามิ, ตํ สุณาถ …เป… กตเม จ, ภิกฺขเว, ฉ อปริหานิยา ธมฺมา? น กมฺมารามตา, น ภสฺสารามตา, น นิทฺทารามตา, น สงฺคณิการามตา, โสวจสฺสตา, กลฺยาณมิตฺตตา—อิเม โข, ภิกฺขเว, ฉ อปริหานิยา ธมฺมาฯ
“Bhikkhus, I will teach you these six principles that prevent decline. … And what, bhikkhus, are the six principles that prevent decline? Not relishing work, talk, sleep, and company, being easy to admonish, and having good friends. These six qualities prevent decline.
เย หิ เกจิ, ภิกฺขเว, อตีตมทฺธานํ น ปริหายึสุ กุสเลหิ ธมฺเมหิ, สพฺเพเต อิเมเหว ฉหิ ธมฺเมหิ น ปริหายึสุ กุสเลหิ ธมฺเมหิฯ เยปิ หิ เกจิ, ภิกฺขเว, อนาคตมทฺธานํ น ปริหายิสฺสนฺติ กุสเลหิ ธมฺเมหิ, สพฺเพเต อิเมเหว ฉหิ ธมฺเมหิ น ปริหายิสฺสนฺติ กุสเลหิ ธมฺเมหิฯ เยปิ หิ เกจิ, ภิกฺขเว, เอตรหิ น ปริหายนฺติ กุสเลหิ ธมฺเมหิ, สพฺเพเต อิเมเหว ฉหิ ธมฺเมหิ น ปริหายนฺติ กุสเลหิ ธมฺเมหี”ติฯ
Whether in the past, future, or present, all those who have not declined in skillful qualities do so because of these six qualities.”
