3. The Explanation of the Hundred and Eight
သမ္ဗဟုလဘိက္ခုသုတ္တ
With Several Bhikkhus
အထ ခေါ သမ္ဗဟုလာ ဘိက္ခူ ယေန ဘဂဝါ တေနုပသင်္ကမိံသု; ဥပသင်္ကမိတွာ …ပေ… ဧကမန္တံ နိသိန္နာ ခေါ တေ ဘိက္ခူ ဘဂဝန္တံ ဧတဒဝေါစုံ:
Then several bhikkhus went up to the Buddha, bowed, sat down to one side, and said to him:
“ကတမာ နု ခေါ, ဘန္တေ, ဝေဒနာ, ကတမော ဝေဒနာသမုဒယော, ကတမာ ဝေဒနာသမုဒယဂါမိနီ ပဋိပဒါ? ကတမော ဝေဒနာနိရောဓော, ကတမာ ဝေဒနာနိရောဓဂါမိနီ ပဋိပဒါ? ကော ဝေဒနာယ အဿာဒေါ, ကော အာဒီနဝေါ, ကိံ နိဿရဏန်”တိ?
“Sir, what is feeling? What’s the origin of feeling? What’s the practice that leads to the origin of feeling? What’s the cessation of feeling? What’s the practice that leads to the cessation of feeling? And what is feeling’s gratification, drawback, and escape?”
“တိဿော ဣမာ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ဝေဒနာ—သုခါ ဝေဒနာ, ဒုက္ခာ ဝေဒနာ, အဒုက္ခမသုခါ ဝေဒနာ၊ ဣမာ ဝုစ္စန္တိ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ဝေဒနာ၊
“Bhikkhus, there are these three feelings. pleasant, painful, and neutral. These are called feeling.
ဖဿသမုဒယာ ဝေဒနာသမုဒယော၊ တဏှာ ဝေဒနာသမုဒယဂါမိနီ ပဋိပဒါ၊
Feeling originates from contact. Craving is the practice that leads to the origin of feeling.

When contact ceases, feeling ceases. …
ယော ဝေဒနာယ ဆန္ဒရာဂဝိနယော ဆန္ဒရာဂပ္ပဟာနံ၊ ဣဒံ ဝေဒနာယ နိဿရဏန်”တိ၊
Removing and giving up desire and greed for feeling: this is its escape.”
