Black Snakes (1st)
“ปญฺจิเม, ภิกฺขเว, อาทีนวา กณฺหสปฺเปฯ กตเม ปญฺจ? อสุจิ, ทุคฺคนฺโธ, สภีรุ, สปฺปฏิภโย, มิตฺตทุพฺภีฯ อิเม โข, ภิกฺขเว, ปญฺจ อาทีนวา กณฺหสปฺเปฯ
“Bhikkhus, there are these five drawbacks of a black snake. What five? It’s filthy, stinking, cowardly, frightening, and treacherous. These are the five dangers of a black snake.
เอวเมวํ โข, ภิกฺขเว, ปญฺจิเม อาทีนวา มาตุคาเมฯ กตเม ปญฺจ? อสุจิ, ทุคฺคนฺโธ, สภีรุ, สปฺปฏิภโย, มิตฺตทุพฺภีฯ อิเม โข, ภิกฺขเว, ปญฺจ อาทีนวา มาตุคาเม”ติฯ
In the same way there are five drawbacks of a female. What five? She’s filthy, stinking, cowardly, frightening, and treacherous. These are the five drawbacks of a female.”
