ឯកំ សមយំ អាយស្មា ច សារិបុត្តោ អាយស្មា ច មហាកោដ្ឋិកោ ពារាណសិយំ វិហរន្តិ ឥសិបតនេ មិគទាយេ។

អថ ខោ អាយស្មា មហាកោដ្ឋិកោ សាយន្ហសមយំ បដិសល្លានា វុដ្ឋិតោ …បេ… ឯកមន្តំ និសិន្នោ ខោ អាយស្មា មហាកោដ្ឋិកោ អាយស្មន្តំ សារិបុត្តំ ឯតទវោច:
Mahākoṭṭhita said to Sāriputta:
“‘អវិជ្ជា, អវិជ្ជាៜតិ, អាវុសោ សារិបុត្ត, វុច្ចតិ។ កតមា នុ ខោ, អាវុសោ, អវិជ្ជា; កិត្តាវតា ច អវិជ្ជាគតោ ហោតី”តិ?
“Friend Sāriputta, they speak of this thing called ‘ignorance’. What is ignorance? And how is an ignorant person defined?”
“ឥធាវុសោ អស្សុតវា បុថុជ្ជនោ សមុទយធម្មំ រូបំ ‘សមុទយធម្មំ រូបន៑ៜតិ យថាភូតំ នប្បជានាតិ; វយធម្មំ រូបំ …បេ… ‘សមុទយវយធម្មំ រូបន៑ៜតិ យថាភូតំ នប្បជានាតិ។
“Friend, it’s when an unlearned ordinary person doesn’t truly understand form, which is liable to originate … liable to vanish … liable to originate and vanish, as form which is liable to originate and vanish.
សមុទយធម្មំ វេទនំ …បេ… វយធម្មំ វេទនំ …បេ… ‘សមុទយវយធម្មា វេទនាៜតិ យថាភូតំ នប្បជានាតិ។ សមុទយធម្មំ សញ្ញំ …បេ… សមុទយធម្មេ សង្ខារេ …បេ… វយធម្មេ សង្ខារេ …បេ… សមុទយវយធម្មេ សង្ខារេ ‘សមុទយវយធម្មា សង្ខារាៜតិ យថាភូតំ នប្បជានាតិ។ សមុទយធម្មំ វិញ្ញាណំ …បេ… សមុទយវយធម្មំ វិញ្ញាណំ ‘សមុទយវយធម្មំ វិញ្ញាណន៑ៜតិ យថាភូតំ នប្បជានាតិ។
They don’t truly understand feeling … perception … functioning patterns … consciousness, which is liable to originate … liable to vanish … liable to originate and vanish, as consciousness which is liable to originate and vanish.
អយំ វុច្ចតិ, អាវុសោ, អវិជ្ជា; ឯត្តាវតា ច អវិជ្ជាគតោ ហោតី”តិ។
This is called ignorance. And this is how an ignorant person is defined.”
