“ปญฺจิมานิ, ภิกฺขเว, อญฺญาพฺยากรณานิฯ กตมานิ ปญฺจ? มนฺทตฺตา โมมูหตฺตา อญฺญํ พฺยากโรติ; ปาปิจฺโฉ อิจฺฉาปกโต อญฺญํ พฺยากโรติ; อุมฺมาทา จิตฺตกฺเขปา อญฺญํ พฺยากโรติ; อธิมาเนน อญฺญํ พฺยากโรติ; สมฺมเทว อญฺญํ พฺยากโรติฯ อิมานิ โข, ภิกฺขเว, ปญฺจ อญฺญาพฺยากรณานี”ติฯ
“Bhikkhus, there are five ways of declaring enlightenment. What five? One declares enlightenment out of stupidity and folly. Or because of corrupt wishes, being of wishful temperament. Or because of madness and mental disorder. Or out of overestimation. Or one declares enlightenment rightly. These are the five ways of declaring enlightenment.”
