ဧကံ သမယံ ဘဂဝါ စမ္ပာယံ ဝိဟရတိ ဂဂ္ဂရာယ ပေါက္ခရဏိယာ တီရေ၊ အထ ခေါ အာယသ္မာ ဝါဟနော ယေန ဘဂဝါ တေနုပသင်္ကမိ; ဥပသင်္ကမိတွာ ဘဂဝန္တံ အဘိဝါဒေတွာ ဧကမန္တံ နိသီဒိ၊ ဧကမန္တံ နိသိန္နော ခေါ အာယသ္မာ ဝါဟနော ဘဂဝန္တံ ဧတဒဝေါစ:
At one time the Buddha was staying near Campā on the banks of the Gaggarā Lotus Pond. Then Venerable Bāhuna went up to the Buddha, bowed, sat down to one side, and said to him:
“ကတိဟိ နု ခေါ, ဘန္တေ, ဓမ္မေဟိ တထာဂတော နိဿဋော ဝိသံယုတ္တော ဝိပ္ပမုတ္တော ဝိမရိယာဒီကတေန စေတသာ ဝိဟရတီ”တိ?
“Sir, how many things has the Realized One escaped from, so that he lives unattached, liberated, his mind free of limits?”
“ဒသဟိ ခေါ, ဝါဟန, ဓမ္မေဟိ တထာဂတော နိဿဋော ဝိသံယုတ္တော ဝိပ္ပမုတ္တော ဝိမရိယာဒီကတေန စေတသာ ဝိဟရတိ၊ ကတမေဟိ ဒသဟိ? ရူပေန ခေါ, ဝါဟန, တထာဂတော နိဿဋော ဝိသံယုတ္တော ဝိပ္ပမုတ္တော ဝိမရိယာဒီကတေန စေတသာ ဝိဟရတိ, ဝေဒနာယ ခေါ, ဝါဟန …ပေ… သညာယ ခေါ, ဝါဟန … သင်္ခါရေဟိ ခေါ, ဝါဟန … ဝိညာဏေန ခေါ, ဝါဟန … ဇာတိယာ ခေါ, ဝါဟန … ဇရာယ ခေါ, ဝါဟန … မရဏေန ခေါ, ဝါဟန … ဒုက္ခေဟိ ခေါ, ဝါဟန … ကိလေသေဟိ ခေါ, ဝါဟန, တထာဂတော နိဿဋော ဝိသံယုတ္တော ဝိပ္ပမုတ္တော ဝိမရိယာဒီကတေန စေတသာ ဝိဟရတိ၊ သေယျထာပိ, ဝါဟန, ဥပ္ပလံ ဝါ ပဒုမံ ဝါ ပုဏ္ဍရီကံ ဝါ ဥဒကေ ဇာတံ ဥဒကေ သံဝဍ္ဎံ ဥဒကာ ပစ္စုဂ္ဂမ္မ ဌိတံ အနုပလိတ္တံ ဥဒကေန; ဧဝမေဝံ ခေါ, ဝါဟန, ဣမေဟိ ဒသဟိ ဓမ္မေဟိ တထာဂတော နိဿဋော ဝိသံယုတ္တော ဝိပ္ပမုတ္တော ဝိမရိယာဒီကတေန စေတသာ ဝိဟရတီ”တိ၊
“Bāhuna, the Realized One has escaped from ten things, so that he lives unattached, liberated, his mind free of limits. What ten? Form … feeling … perception … functioning patterns … consciousness … rebirth … old age … death … suffering … defilements … Suppose there was a blue water lily, or a pink or white lotus. Though it sprouted and grew in the water, it would rise up above the water and stand with no water clinging to it. In the same way, the Realized One has escaped from ten things, so that he lives unattached, liberated, his mind free of limits.”
