သာဝတ္ထိယံ ဝိဟရတိ၊
At Sāvatthī.
“ဒါရုဏော, ဘိက္ခဝေ, လာဘသက္ကာရသိလောကော …ပေ… အဓိဂမာယ၊
“Possessions, honor, and popularity are brutal …
အဿုတ္ထ နော တုမှေ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ရတ္တိယာ ပစ္စူသသမယံ ဇရသိင်္ဂါလဿ ဝဿမာနဿာ”တိ?
Bhikkhus, did you hear an old jackal howling at the crack of dawn?”
“ဧဝံ, ဘန္တေ”၊
“Yes, sir.”
“ဧသော ခေါ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ဇရသိင်္ဂါလော ဥက္ကဏ္ဍကေန နာမ ရောဂဇာတေန ဖုဋ္ဌော နေဝ ဗိလဂတော ရမတိ, န ရုက္ခမူလဂတော ရမတိ, န အဇ္ဈောကာသဂတော ရမတိ; ယေန ယေန ဂစ္ဆတိ, ယတ္ထ ယတ္ထ တိဋ္ဌတိ, ယတ္ထ ယတ္ထ နိသီဒတိ, ယတ္ထ ယတ္ထ နိပဇ္ဇတိ; တတ္ထ တတ္ထ အနယဗျသနံ အာပဇ္ဇတိ၊
“That old jackal has the disease called mange. He’s not happy in his den, or at the root of a tree, or out in the open. Wherever he goes, stands, sits, or lies down he meets with tragedy and disaster.
ဧဝမေဝ ခေါ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ဣဓေကစ္စော ဘိက္ခု လာဘသက္ကာရသိလောကေန အဘိဘူတော ပရိယာဒိဏ္ဏစိတ္တော နေဝ သုညာဂါရဂတော ရမတိ, န ရုက္ခမူလဂတော ရမတိ, န အဇ္ဈောကာသဂတော ရမတိ; ယေန ယေန ဂစ္ဆတိ, ယတ္ထ ယတ္ထ တိဋ္ဌတိ, ယတ္ထ ယတ္ထ နိသီဒတိ, ယတ္ထ ယတ္ထ နိပဇ္ဇတိ; တတ္ထ တတ္ထ အနယဗျသနံ အာပဇ္ဇတိ၊
In the same way, take a certain bhikkhu whose mind is overcome and overwhelmed by possessions, honor, and popularity. They’re not happy in an empty hut, at the root of a tree, or out in the open. Wherever they go, stand, sit, or lie down they meet with tragedy and disaster.
ဧဝံ ဒါရုဏော ခေါ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, လာဘသက္ကာရသိလောကော …ပေ… ဧဝဉှိ ဝေါ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, သိက္ခိတဗ္ဗန်”တိ၊
