“Bhikkhus, all the ascetics and brahmins in the past, future, or present who wield the various kinds of psychic power—multiplying themselves and becoming one again; appearing and disappearing; going unimpeded through a wall, a rampart, or a mountain as if through space; diving in and out of the earth as if it were water; walking on water as if it were earth; flying cross-legged through the sky like a bird; touching and stroking with the hand the sun and moon, so mighty and powerful; controlling their body as far as the Brahmā realm—do so by developing and cultivating the four bases of psychic power.
កតមេសំ ចតុន្នំ? ឥធ, ភិក្ខវេ, ភិក្ខុ ឆន្ទសមាធិប្បធានសង្ខារសមន្នាគតំ ឥទ្ធិបាទំ ភាវេតិ, វីរិយសមាធិ …បេ… ចិត្តសមាធិ … វីមំសាសមាធិប្បធានសង្ខារសមន្នាគតំ ឥទ្ធិបាទំ ភាវេតិ។ យេ ហិ កេចិ, ភិក្ខវេ, អតីតមទ្ធានំ សមណា វា ព្រាហ្មណា វា អនេកវិហិតំ ឥទ្ធិវិធំ បច្ចនុភោសុំ—ឯកោបិ ហុត្វា ពហុធា អហេសុំ …បេ… យាវ ព្រហ្មលោកាបិ កាយេន វសំ វត្តេសុំ, សព្ពេ តេ ឥមេសំយេវ ចតុន្នំ ឥទ្ធិបាទានំ ភាវិតត្តា ពហុលីកតត្តា។ យេ ហិ កេចិ, ភិក្ខវេ, អនាគតមទ្ធានំ សមណា វា ព្រាហ្មណា វា អនេកវិហិតំ ឥទ្ធិវិធំ បច្ចនុភោស្សន្តិ—ឯកោបិ ហុត្វា ពហុធា ភវិស្សន្តិ …បេ… យាវ ព្រហ្មលោកាបិ កាយេន វសំ វត្តិស្សន្តិ, សព្ពេ តេ ឥមេសំយេវ ចតុន្នំ ឥទ្ធិបាទានំ ភាវិតត្តា ពហុលីកតត្តា។ យេ ហិ កេចិ, ភិក្ខវេ, ឯតរហិ សមណា វា ព្រាហ្មណា វា អនេកវិហិតំ ឥទ្ធិវិធំ បច្ចនុភោន្តិ—ឯកោបិ ហុត្វា ពហុធា ហោន្តិ …បេ… យាវ ព្រហ្មលោកាបិ កាយេន វសំ វត្តេន្តិ, សព្ពេ តេ ឥមេសំយេវ ចតុន្នំ ឥទ្ធិបាទានំ ភាវិតត្តា ពហុលីកតត្តា”តិ។
What four? It’s when a bhikkhu develops the basis of psychic power that has samādhi due to enthusiasm … energy … mental development … inquiry, and active effort. Bhikkhus, all the ascetics and brahmins in the past, future, or present who wield the many kinds of psychic power—multiplying themselves and becoming one again … controlling their body as far as the Brahmā realm—do so by developing and cultivating these four bases of psychic power.”
