“จตูหิ, ภิกฺขเว, ธมฺเมหิ สมนฺนาคโต ยถาภตํ นิกฺขิตฺโต เอวํ นิรเยฯ กตเมหิ จตูหิ? อสฺสทฺโธ โหติ, ทุสฺสีโล โหติ, กุสีโต โหติ, ทุปฺปญฺโญ โหติ—อิเมหิ โข, ภิกฺขเว, จตูหิ ธมฺเมหิ สมนฺนาคโต ยถาภตํ นิกฺขิตฺโต เอวํ นิรเยฯ
“Bhikkhus, someone with four qualities is cast down to hell. What four? They’re faithless, unethical, lazy, and witless. Someone with these four qualities is cast down to hell.
จตูหิ, ภิกฺขเว, ธมฺเมหิ สมนฺนาคโต ยถาภตํ นิกฺขิตฺโต เอวํ สคฺเคฯ กตเมหิ จตูหิ? สทฺโธ โหติ, สีลวา โหติ, อารทฺธวีริโย โหติ, ปญฺญวา โหติ—อิเมหิ โข, ภิกฺขเว, จตูหิ ธมฺเมหิ สมนฺนาคโต ยถาภตํ นิกฺขิตฺโต เอวํ สคฺเค”ติฯ
Someone with four qualities is raised up to heaven. What four? They’re faithful, ethical, energetic, and wise. Someone with these four qualities is raised up to heaven.”
