အဝိဇ္ဇာသုတ္တ

Ignorance

ဧကမန္တံ နိသိန္နော ခေါ သော ဘိက္ခု ဘဂဝန္တံ ဧတဒဝေါစ:

Seated to one side, that bhikkhu said to the Buddha:

“‘အဝိဇ္ဇာ, အဝိဇ္ဇာ'တိ, ဘန္တေ, ဝုစ္စတိ၊ ကတမာ နု ခေါ, ဘန္တေ, အဝိဇ္ဇာ; ကိတ္တာဝတာ စ အဝိဇ္ဇာဂတော ဟောတီ”တိ?

“Sir, they speak of this thing called ‘ignorance’. What is ignorance? And how is an ignorant person defined?”

“ယံ ခေါ, ဘိက္ခု, ဒုက္ခေ အညာဏံ, ဒုက္ခသမုဒယေ အညာဏံ, ဒုက္ခနိရောဓေ အညာဏံ, ဒုက္ခနိရောဓဂါမိနိယာ ပဋိပဒါယ အညာဏံ—အယံ ဝုစ္စတိ, ဘိက္ခု, အဝိဇ္ဇာ; ဧတ္တာဝတာ စ အဝိဇ္ဇာဂတော ဟောတီတိ၊

“Not knowing about suffering, the origin of suffering, the cessation of suffering, and the practice that leads to the cessation of suffering. This is called ignorance. And this is how an ignorant person is defined.

တသ္မာတိဟ, ဘိက္ခု, ‘ဣဒံ ဒုက္ခန်'တိ ယောဂေါ ကရဏီယော …ပေ… ‘အယံ ဒုက္ခနိရောဓဂါမိနီ ပဋိပဒါ'တိ ယောဂေါ ကရဏီယော”တိ၊
