“किंसु वत्थु मनुस्सानं, किंसूध परमो सखा; किंसु भूता उपजीवन्ति, ये पाणा पथविस्सिता”ति।

“Kiṁsu vatthu manussānaṁ, kiṁsūdha paramo sakhā; Kiṁsu bhūtā upajīvanti, ye pāṇā pathavissitā”ti.

“What is the ground of human beings? What is the best companion here? By what do the creatures who live off the earth sustain their life?”

“पुत्ता वत्थु मनुस्सानं, भरिया च परमो सखा; वुट्ठिं भूता उपजीवन्ति, ये पाणा पथविस्सिता”ति।

“Puttā vatthu manussānaṁ, bhariyā ca1 paramo sakhā; Vuṭṭhiṁ bhūtā upajīvanti, ye pāṇā pathavissitā”ti.

“Children are the ground of human beings. A wife is the best companion. The creatures who live off the earth sustain their life by rain.”
