Liable to Wear Out
សាវត្ថិនិទានំ។
At Sāvatthī.
អថ ខោ អាយស្មា អានន្ទោ យេន ភគវា តេនុបសង្កមិ …បេ… ឯកមន្តំ និសិន្នោ ខោ អាយស្មា អានន្ទោ ភគវន្តំ ឯតទវោច:
Then Venerable Ānanda went up to the Buddha, bowed, sat down to one side, and said to him:
“‘លោកោ, លោកោៜតិ, ភន្តេ, វុច្ចតិ។ កិត្តាវតា នុ ខោ, ភន្តេ, លោកោតិ វុច្ចតី”តិ?
“Sir, they speak of this thing called ‘the world’. How is the world defined?”
“យំ ខោ, អានន្ទ, បលោកធម្មំ, អយំ វុច្ចតិ អរិយស្ស វិនយេ លោកោ។ កិញ្ច, អានន្ទ, បលោកធម្មំ? ចក្ខុ ខោ, អានន្ទ, បលោកធម្មំ, រូបា បលោកធម្មា, ចក្ខុវិញ្ញាណំ បលោកធម្មំ, ចក្ខុសម្ផស្សោ បលោកធម្មោ, យម្បិទំ ចក្ខុសម្ផស្សបច្ចយា …បេ… តម្បិ បលោកធម្មំ …បេ…
“Ānanda, that which is liable to wear out is called the world in the training of the Noble One. And what is liable to wear out? The eye is liable to wear out. Sights … eye consciousness … eye contact is liable to wear out. The painful, pleasant, or neutral feeling that arises conditioned by eye contact is also liable to wear out.
ជិវ្ហា បលោកធម្មា, រសា បលោកធម្មា, ជិវ្ហាវិញ្ញាណំ បលោកធម្មំ, ជិវ្ហាសម្ផស្សោ បលោកធម្មោ, យម្បិទំ ជិវ្ហាសម្ផស្សបច្ចយា …បេ… តម្បិ បលោកធម្មំ …បេ… មនោ បលោកធម្មោ, ធម្មា បលោកធម្មា, មនោវិញ្ញាណំ បលោកធម្មំ, មនោសម្ផស្សោ បលោកធម្មោ, យម្បិទំ មនោសម្ផស្សបច្ចយា ឧប្បជ្ជតិ វេទយិតំ សុខំ វា ទុក្ខំ វា អទុក្ខមសុខំ វា តម្បិ បលោកធម្មំ។
The ear … nose … tongue … body … The mind … thoughts … mind consciousness … mind contact is liable to wear out. The painful, pleasant, or neutral feeling that arises conditioned by mind contact is also liable to wear out.
យំ ខោ, អានន្ទ, បលោកធម្មំ, អយំ វុច្ចតិ អរិយស្ស វិនយេ លោកោ”តិ។
That which is liable to wear out is called the world in the training of the Noble One.”
