First Absorption (2nd)
“ဆ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ဓမ္မေ အပ္ပဟာယ အဘဗ္ဗော ပဌမံ ဈာနံ ဥပသမ္ပဇ္ဇ ဝိဟရိတုံ၊ ကတမေ ဆ? ကာမဝိတက္ကံ, ဗျာပါဒဝိတက္ကံ, ဝိဟိံသာဝိတက္ကံ, ကာမသညံ, ဗျာပါဒသညံ, ဝိဟိံသာသညံ—ဣမေ ခေါ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ဆ ဓမ္မေ အပ္ပဟာယ အဘဗ္ဗော ပဌမံ ဈာနံ ဥပသမ္ပဇ္ဇ ဝိဟရိတုံ၊
“Bhikkhus, without giving up these six qualities you can’t enter and remain in the first jhāna. What six? Sensual, malicious, and cruel thoughts; and sensual, malicious, and cruel perceptions. Without giving up these six qualities you can’t enter and remain in the first jhāna.
ဆ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ဓမ္မေ ပဟာယ ဘဗ္ဗော ပဌမံ ဈာနံ ဥပသမ္ပဇ္ဇ ဝိဟရိတုံ၊ ကတမေ ဆ? ကာမဝိတက္ကံ, ဗျာပါဒဝိတက္ကံ, ဝိဟိံသာဝိတက္ကံ, ကာမသညံ, ဗျာပါဒသညံ, ဝိဟိံသာသညံ—ဣမေ ခေါ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ဆ ဓမ္မေ ပဟာယ ဘဗ္ဗော ပဌမံ ဈာနံ ဥပသမ္ပဇ္ဇ ဝိဟရိတုန်”တိ၊
But after giving up these six qualities you can enter and remain in the first jhāna. What six? Sensual, malicious, and cruel thoughts; and sensual, malicious, and cruel perceptions. After giving up these six qualities you can enter and remain in the first jhāna.”
