Observing Suffering

सत्तिमे, भिक्खवे, पुग्गला आहुनेय्या …पे… अनुत्तरं पुञ्ञक्खेत्तं लोकस्स। कतमे सत्त? इध, भिक्खवे, एकच्चो पुग्गलो सब्बसङ्खारेसु दुक्खानुपस्सी विहरति …पे…।

Sattime, bhikkhave, puggalā āhuneyyā …pe… anuttaraṁ puññakkhettaṁ lokassa. Katame satta? Idha, bhikkhave, ekacco puggalo sabbasaṅkhāresu dukkhānupassī viharati …pe….

“Bhikkhus, these seven people are worthy of offerings dedicated to the gods, worthy of hospitality, worthy of a religious donation, worthy of greeting with joined palms, and are the supreme field of merit for the world. What seven? First, take a person who meditates watching, again and again, suffering in all conditions. They perceive suffering and experience suffering. Constantly, continually, and without interruption, they apply the mind and fathom with wisdom. …”

सत्तमं।
