The Fruits of Initiative

“ចត្តារោមេ, ភិក្ខវេ, បុគ្គលា សន្តោ សំវិជ្ជមានា លោកស្មិំ។ កតមេ ចត្តារោ?

“These four people are found in the world. What four?

    ឧដ្ឋានផលូបជីវី ន កម្មផលូបជីវី,

    One who lives off the fruit of initiative, but not deeds;

កម្មផលូបជីវី ន ឧដ្ឋានផលូបជីវី,

one who lives off the fruit of deeds, but not initiative;

ឧដ្ឋានផលូបជីវី ចេវ កម្មផលូបជីវី ច,

one who lives off the fruit of both deeds and initiative;

នេវ ឧដ្ឋានផលូបជីវី ន កម្មផលូបជីវី—

one who lives off the fruit of neither initiative nor deeds.

ឥមេ ខោ, ភិក្ខវេ, ចត្តារោ បុគ្គលា សន្តោ សំវិជ្ជមានា លោកស្មិន៑”តិ។

These are the four people found in the world.”
