“အာနာပါနဿတိ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ဘာဝိတာ ဗဟုလီကတာ မဟပ္ဖလာ ဟောတိ မဟာနိသံသာ၊ ကထံ ဘာဝိတာ စ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, အာနာပါနဿတိ ကထံ ဗဟုလီကတာ မဟပ္ဖလာ ဟောတိ မဟာနိသံသာ?

“Bhikkhus, when mindfulness of breathing is developed and cultivated it’s very fruitful and beneficial. And how is mindfulness of breathing developed and cultivated to be very fruitful and beneficial?

ဣဓ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, ဘိက္ခု အရညဂတော ဝါ ရုက္ခမူလဂတော ဝါ သုညာဂါရဂတော ဝါ နိသီဒတိ ပလ္လင်္ကံ အာဘုဇိတွာ ဥဇုံ ကာယံ ပဏိဓာယ ပရိမုခံ သတိံ ဥပဋ္ဌပေတွာ၊

It’s when a bhikkhu—gone to a wilderness, or to the root of a tree, or to an empty hut—sits down cross-legged, sets their body straight, and establishes mindfulness around the opening (of the nostrils).

သော သတောဝ အဿသတိ, သတောဝ ပဿသတိ …ပေ…

Just mindful, they breathe in. Mindful, they breathe out. …

‘ပဋိနိဿဂ္ဂါနုပဿီ အဿသိဿာမီ'တိ သိက္ခတိ, ‘ပဋိနိဿဂ္ဂါနုပဿီ ပဿသိဿာမီ'တိ သိက္ခတိ၊

They practice like this: ‘I’ll breathe in watching, again and again, letting go.’ They practice like this: ‘I’ll breathe out watching, again and again, letting go.’

ဧဝံ ဘာဝိတာ ခေါ, ဘိက္ခဝေ, အာနာပါနဿတိ ဧဝံ ဗဟုလီကတာ မဟပ္ဖလာ ဟောတိ မဟာနိသံသာ”တိ၊

Mindfulness of breathing, when developed and cultivated in this way, is very fruitful and beneficial.”
