Accomplishment in Rational Application of Mind (2nd)
“යදිදං—යෝනිසෝමනසිකාරසම්පදා. යෝනිසෝමනසිකාරසම්පන්නස්සේතං, භික්ඛවේ, භික්ඛුනෝ පාටිකඞ්ඛං—අරියං අට්ඨඞ්ගිකං මග්ගං භාවේස්සති, අරියං අට්ඨඞ්ගිකං මග්ගං බහුලීකරිස්සති.
“… accomplishment in rational application of mind. A bhikkhu accomplished in rational application of mind can expect to develop and cultivate the noble eightfold path.
කථඤ්ච, භික්ඛවේ, භික්ඛු යෝනිසෝමනසිකාරසම්පන්නෝ අරියං අට්ඨඞ්ගිකං මග්ගං භාවේති, අරියං අට්ඨඞ්ගිකං මග්ගං බහුලීකරෝති? ඉධ, භික්ඛවේ, භික්ඛු සම්මාදිට්ඨිං භාවේති …පේ… සම්මාසමාධිං භාවේති රාගවිනයපරියෝසානං දෝසවිනයපරියෝසානං මෝහවිනයපරියෝසානං. ඒවං ඛෝ, භික්ඛවේ, භික්ඛු යෝනිසෝමනසිකාරසම්පන්නෝ අරියං අට්ඨඞ්ගිකං මග්ගං භාවේති, අරියං අට්ඨඞ්ගිකං මග්ගං බහුලීකරෝතී”ති.
And how does a bhikkhu accomplished in rational application of mind develop and cultivate the noble eightfold path? It’s when a bhikkhu develops right view, right thought, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right mindfulness, and right samādhi, which culminate in the removal of greed, hate, and delusion. That’s how a bhikkhu accomplished in rational application of mind develops and cultivates the noble eightfold path.”
