ආසේවිතබ්බසුත්ත

Should Be Cultivated

“ආසේවිතබ්බඤ්ච වෝ, භික්ඛවේ, ධම්මං දේසේස්සාමි න ආසේවිතබ්බඤ්ච. තං සුණාථ …පේ… කතමෝ ච, භික්ඛවේ, න ආසේවිතබ්බෝ ධම්මෝ? මිච්ඡාදිට්ඨි …පේ… මිච්ඡාවිමුත්ති—අයං වුච්චති, භික්ඛවේ, න ආසේවිතබ්බෝ ධම්මෝ. කතමෝ ච, භික්ඛවේ, ආසේවිතබ්බෝ ධම්මෝ? සම්මාදිට්ඨි …පේ… සම්මාවිමුත්ති—අයං වුච්චති, භික්ඛවේ, ආසේවිතබ්බෝ ධම්මෝ”ති.

“I will teach you the principle to cultivate and the principle not to cultivate. … And what is the principle not to cultivate? Wrong view, wrong thought, wrong speech, wrong action, wrong livelihood, wrong effort, wrong mindfulness, wrong samādhi, wrong knowledge, and wrong freedom. This is called the principle not to cultivate. And what is the principle to cultivate? Right view, right thought, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right mindfulness, right samādhi, right knowledge, and right freedom. This is called the principle to cultivate.”
