Xavier Susai

Xavier Susai (born September 5 1983) was born in Singapore and moved to Australia in 1992.[http://www.xpressmag.com.au/archives/2007/04/raw_and_ready.php] He attended Newman College (Perth) and later completed a Bachelor of Science in Aviation in Edith Cowan University earning himself a pilot's license. He presently studies Mechanical Engineering at Curtin University of Technology. [http://www.wa-newspapers.com.au/ ].

Early life and comedy career

Susai grew up in Singapore, Surabaya, Indonesia and Perth, Western Australia, the younger of three children. Showing comedic and performing skill early in life, Susai began doing impressions of family members and celebrities at the age of 4, first mimicking James Brown, voice and mannerisms, and spent many years developing many characters. It wasn't until July 2006 in which Susai made his comedic debut in Green Faces, a national stand-up competition in Australia, where he was voted into the state finals based on his inaugural stand-up performance [http://www.wa-newspapers.com.au/ ].

Susai was declared a National finalist for Triple J's RAW Comedy in 2007 representing Western Australia in the Melbourne Town Hall for the Melbourne International Comedy Festival on April 22, 2007[http://www.thegroggysquirrel.com/articles/2007/04/05/2007-melbourne-comedy-festival-reviews/raw-comedy-national-final-2007 1]. He is also a national finalist for 2007 Green Faces.

Comedy style

Susai's observational and conversational comedy style, incorporating his skill for mimicry, is directed toward social and environmental topics. His main influences include Billy Connolly, Robin Williams, and Brendan Burns.
