Universiti Tun Abdul Razak

Universiti Tun Abdul Razak (UNITAR) is Malaysia's first MSC-Status private university and it is named after Malaysia's second Prime Minister, the late YAB. Tun Abdul Razak. It is an ISO 9001:2000-certified private university in Malaysia. UNITAR combines face-to-face classes with the effective use of web-based courseware and online tutorials.

UNITAR started its operation on 18 December 1997 when it received the invitation letter to set up a university from the then Minister of Education, Najib Tun Razak (now Prime Minister). The university welcomed its first batch of 162 students in September 1998. Najib Tun Razak launched the university on 21 December 1998 at Kelana Jaya Study Centre, Petaling Jaya, Selangor. In 2006, UNITAR is wholly owned by the Tun Abdul Razak Educational Foundation (Yayasan PINTAR) which is a foundation chaired by Najib himself.

UNITAR currently has 2 campuses: PINTAR campus in Kelana Jaya, Petaling Jaya and Tun Razak City Campus in Kuala Lumpur. UNITAR new vision is to become the leading institution in providing quality education and human capital in niche areas or body knowledge among emerging economies. The University also intends to enhance its cooperation and collaborative networks through strategic alliances with top-ranking international universities, renowned in their respective fields.
