Quentin Westberg
Quentin Westberg (b. April 25, 1986 in Suresnes, Hauts-de-Seine) is a Franco-American football (soccer) goalkeeper currently playing for Troyes AC in France's Ligue 2.
Westberg is a product of the famed academy at Clairefontaine. Though he was born in France, Quentin has turned out for American youth national teams (and started for the US at the 2005 FIFA World Youth Championship in the Netherlands) due to American ancestry.
Quentin made his first team debut on October 21, 2006 being subbed on for the injured Ronan Le Crom. He conceded twice as ten-man Troyes were beaten by Valenciennes. In his next match Quentin played 90 minutes as Troyes ran out 3-1 winners against AS Saint-Étienne.
For the 2007/2008 season Westberg has been handed the number 1 shirt at Troyes. [http://www.lfp.fr/club/effectif.asp?no_affil_fff=500073] (in french). During the 2008 Winter Transfer Window, Dender EH of the Jupiler League expressed interest in acquiring Westberg. They were interested in taking Westberg permanently, but Troyes AC did not want him gone for more than a six-month loan. This led to the transfer falling through. In May 2008, Westberg received his first U.S. U-23 call-up for the 2008 Toulon Tournament, and played in the last match of the group phase. He has also stated his desire to play at Troyes AC for his entire career.
