K-1 France Grand Prix 2005 in Marseilles
K-1 France Grand Prix 2005 in Marseilles was a kickboxing event promoted by the K-1 organization. It was a preliminary qualifying tournament for the K-1 World Grand Prix 2005, involving eight fighters based in France and Europe, with all bouts being fought under K-1 Rules (100 kg/156-220 lbs). As well as tournament bouts there was also a 'Super Fight' between Rani Berbachi and Humberto Evora fought under K-1 Rules. In total there were ten fighters at the event, representing six countries.
The tournament winner was Christian Nka Nka who defeated Gregory Tony in the final by third round decision. Despite winning the competition Christian Nka Nka would not participate in the next stage of the K-1 Grand Prix - runner up Gregory Tony would qualify as a reserve fighter for the K-1 World Grand Prix 2005 in Paris instead. The event was held at the Salle Vallier in Marseilles, France on Saturday, January 29, 2005.
