Plot

Maria Nicolasa Cruz, an underpaid maid, but loyal and kind to Doña Clarita, her boss. Doña Clarita is dying, but leaves behind a rich fortune, a mansion, and Mimi her loyal dog. Maria loves Doña Clarita and is with her in her last moments. But her ambitious brother Marciano, sleeky sister Doña Paz, numb nephew Braulio, and her gullible grandsons Raul and Laura try to kill Doña Clarita, so they can inherit all her riches. Doña Clarita dies, and Maria comes down crying to give the news. Maria is fired, so she decides to go back to her pueblo. Then Marciano, Paz, Braulio, Raul, and Laura go to the notary to hear Doña Clarita's will. To everyone's surprise the will only mentions Mimi, the dog, and Maria as her tutor. Everyone goes back to stop Maria from leaving the mansion. The zopilotes(vultures \ Maria's nickname for Doña Clarita's family) convince Maria to stay in the mansion to take care of Mimi, and that she is her tutor. The zopilotes try several times to kill Maria along with Mimi but all attempts failed. Until Marciano feeds Mimi a piece of meat with an explosive inside. But before Mimi eats it, Maria takes it from her and cooks it for the afternoon meal. Braulio gets the piece of meat and with just one cut, the explosive EXPLODES! Mimi ears were seriously affected. So the doctor advises Maria to go on a vacation with Mimi to Doña Clarita's old vacation house in Guanajuato. Maria is scared by the butler Franki, when she enters the house's gates. Maria and Mimi survive two scary hands, a cyclop, a giant talking frog, a fern monster, a werewolve, and many more horrorific things. Maria's surprise when she notices that those scary characters were the zopilotes, they caught her and put her in this squishing torture machine. She and Mimi on the verge of death are saved by Franki who was a dectective investigating Doña Clarita's death. Maria with all these surprises asks Franki, whose real name is Maldonado, permission to faint on the floor. Marciano, Paz, Braulio, Raul, and Laura end up arrested for homocide.
