Campanula rapunculoides

Campanula rapunculoides or Creeping Bellflower is a plant species of the genus Campanula that is common to the Northeastern United States. It is known as Creeping Bellflower as it spreads, or creeps, very quickly in any place it can take root. The plant is very invasive, at least in the New York area, and can easily destroy entire flower gardens in one summer. It spreads by means of its root system, which tends to be very extensive and can grow very deep in the ground. Getting rid of these plants is a difficult endeavour as a single piece of root is enough to start a new plant. They range in height but can easily get up to 1 metre tall.
